How to make
students Good learner and attain their attention
Creating reading habit in children is not
just a skill but it is more than that. It is considered to be the
gate way to imagination, knowledge, and
infinite possibilities. Being a teacher, trainer or parents our
goal is to ignite passion towards reading
habit in children or students and to ensure they are actively
enjoying it. The following are some of few
method that each trainer or parents should adopt:
1. Create Love for reading at early
age.
Making a
habit of being good readers is not only to memorize words but its main aim is
actually
related
to encouragement of love for reading and nurture the basic comprehension tack
tics and
to
gradually excel towards advance. This method should be followed from very early
age. Daily
following
method whether its bedtime reading or story telling during peaceful and quite
time.
Make them
to realize that how important and enjoyable part of life it is.
2. Ignite Curiosity
with Appealing Content
First start with the selection of such books and articles that are related
to children’s interest.
students mostly like science fiction, adventurous stories, books related to
history, books related
famous personalities and inventions. These books can create a spark of
reading, understanding
and an interest of getting more in to young minds and helps them to create
new ideas.

Establish a suitable study Environment:
Start
with an expedient and tempting study area at home or in class creating a proper
environment. Proper
arrangement
and well stocked with related to appropriate age of students with comfortable
seating
arrangement.
Students should be encouraged to select a proper space for their reading
purpose with their
favorite
book keeping space, decorate their place and make it appealing for themselves.
Make them to
realize
their place as favorite and a place they look forward to visit.

Demonstrate Love for reading
To create
love for reading in students you have to play different characters, a character
of parent, teacher,
and a
students who loves to read, sharing your personal experiences of being a reader
and its impact on
your
personal life, how it helps you to be a good person. Students always judge
behaviors and experiences
they see
in their mentors. Act in front of them being a regular reader, reading a book,
novel, newspaper,
magazine
etc.

Sessions on read aloud interactively:
Arrange
sessions from time to time in groups or individual basis where you read aloud
the story or the
paragraph,
pause to ask questions and correct answers, make prophecies or guesses and
improvements.
This
will give an evaluation of active listening and enhance comprehension. It also motivates
to actively
participate
and critically think. Make them to engage with the text throughout reading by
asking question.
Create a
thrill and encourage for prediction what is going to happen next, summarize and
discuss part
where
they take interest more.
6.
Integrate media and technology:
Insert
media and technology with educational applications, audio and e-books that
offer interactive
topographies.
Photographs, artworks, videos, animations can improve understanding and make
reading
more
vibrant and appealing.
7. Nurture
debate and discussion:
Motivate
student to share what they understood from reading, their opinion and elaborate
in their own
words.
If they feel shy in front of mass, then create a separate space where they
become comfortable to
improve
their confidence. In this way they will share ideas and debate in unique
perspectives, not only
strengthen
reading but also deepen their roots with study material. Motivate to read
aloud, act plays based
on
stories and create their own study material. Participate in clubs where such
activities are encouraged
and
discuss ideas with them in peers.

Celebrate Achievements:
To
understand the inner abilities of students it is important to appreciate and
celebrate the achievements
of
students. Whatever the task whether it is completing a paragraph or book,
reading fluency, exploring
any
idea, encourage them and inspire them to get prepare for facing new goals.
9.
Linking Reading to Real life:
Make students to realize that what they read,
is connected to their own lives and the societies or world
around them. There is always a connection
between literature and personal experience, events whether
current or historical. This generates a
compassion, precarious thinking and inner understanding of being
in this world.
10.
Personal Reading Encouragement:
Students must be encouraged to read
independently where they are allowed to choose a certain book of
their
own interest. Provide occasions to share their over view in pairs or group,
write book reviews,
Participate in certain related clubs. This
creates self-sufficiency and strengthens the interest of reading.
